hi!
This blog has a poll to see who the best 2nd basemen of the 1990s was. And obviously, Chuck Knoblauch is one of the choices, so you should just go along and vote for him (Biggio who?!)

Hi!
I was surfing across baseball-reference today and happened upon Knobby's page and they do that sponsering thing so I clicked on the link for his page's sponser and was led to this

http://www.illegalchuck.com/names/nm1506/1506_chuck_knoblauch.asp

(if you're like me and have to know what it is before you click it, it's a list/photos of actors that people have suggested should play Knobby if there was ever a movie about him)

From youtube; World Series Game 3 - Oct. 26, 1996. Braves vs. Yankees. Girardi gets on base and then Knoblauch comes up to bat against Glavine at the top of the 8th inning... And it says 1996, but I think it might've been 1999. Whatevers.

Note, a young clean-faced Knoblauch, a younger 'nd skinnier Tom Glavine, and John Rocker not being booed out of the stadium...

found here at SI.com;

Jeter, who publicly supported Giambi when he was being blasted for his BALCO involvement, has refused to throw any life preservers to Rodriguez this summer. I asked Jeter why he hasn't told the critics to ease up on A-Rod. "My job as a player is not to tell the fans what to do," he said. "My job is not to tell the media what to write about. They're going to do what they want. They should just let it go. How many times can you ask the same questions?"

Had he ever seen such persistent criticism? "Knobby," he said, referring to error-prone former second baseman Chuck Knoblauch. "[Roger] Clemens for a whole year. Tino [Martinez]."

Has A-Rod's treatment been worse?

"I don't know," Jeter said. "I don't think about that. I'm just concerned with doing what we can to win."

A few simple rules for dating my teenage daughter for this lovely community.

- It's dedicated to Chuck Knoblauch, which means try and keep it on topic (Yankees, Bubba Crosby, etc. are all okay, because that's still on topic).

- LJ-cut long things and BIG pictures (100x100 pictures are okay, but more then 4 please put under a cut).

- If you've got stalker pictures of Chuck Knoblauch, that's cool to post.

- If you've got tibits that you think other people in the community don't know about (like you think you saw him at a grocery store) that's okay to post too.

- That's about it. I'm hoping more people will show up, just because it's more fun to stalk with more people ... or something profound.
